VRW: Shearburn Dominates Charlotte 300 In First VRW Start

Virtual Racing World

On Monday night Chris Shearburn showed up to his first Virtual Racing World race at the Charlotte 300. At nights end he walked away the hands down winner after dominating the 200 lap event.

The race featured only four cautions all night, the first being a multi-car pile-up on the 2nd lap of the race. Jay Taylor also made a sudden exit in turn 3 a few laps later. Points leader Shawn Wise appeared to be a threat to Shearburn's lead but was dropped halfway through the race while running second.

Fuel and tire strategies seemed to be the theme of the race as the VRW drivers showed how to race clean. Long green runs of up to 90 laps made most teams reconsider their pit strategies near the end of the race. Two drivers, one being Nim Cross, ran out of fuel on the final lap of the race costing them dearly in the point standings. The average race speed was a high 156.268 mph.

Top 5 Finishers:

1. C.Shearburn
2. M.Bonoffski
3. S.Whitmore
4. A.Corredino
5. S.Kimball

Shawn Wise loses ground but still has a 95 point lead over Mike Ramsden in the VRW point standings.
