Virtual Racing World: The Most Competitive League in Online Racing

Virtual Racing World

Do you want to see close action? Check out the Virtual Racing World and find out just how close 32 of the best online drivers in the world can race for 300 miles. The VRW has turned into the premier sim racing series. Why? Top talent, a great structure, and an in-depth weekly magazine.

Only the best drivers in online racing can get a ride in the VRW. Drivers like Mike Ramsden, Mike Grandy, Bill Cranston, Nim Cross, Shawn Wise, Billy Murphy, and Tom Robbio. Some of these guys are listed in the Nascar 4 manual! Getting a ride in the VRW is tough. The only thing tougher is keeping your ride.

The key to the VRW is that the drivers do not own the cars, every car belongs to a team, and someone who does not race in the series owns that team. Teams have to manage their expenses. Wrecks and DNF's cost money (virtual that is) and so do driver salaries. Drivers who perform poorly suffer the fate of their real life counter parts; they get fired.

Some team owners, like Andy Small, are finding out just how tough the VRW is on team owners. After only a few weeks, he released both his drivers and hired new ones after his drivers kept 'meeting up' on the track during races. Unfortunately only one of his two new drivers made the field for the Richmond 300.

Want to be an owner in the VRW 300? You will most likely have to wait until next year as there are already 7 well known teams in the sim racing community in line for team ownership.

One of the best aspects of every VRW race is the live audio play-by-play broadcast over the internet. Replays are made available each week also on the VRW site, often before the press releases come out. Races are held every Monday at 9pm EST so be sure to check out the site at least once a week.
