TSW500 Qualifying Procedures in Flux

From the TSW500 site...

"I apologize for the confusion about the procedures. The fact is, I did not plan the qualifying out enough when I came up with the procedures on how to do it. In years past, we did qualifying using the actual qualifying session and having the top XX amount of driver send in the replays of their run. Each year spawned a new problem and it turns out to be too much of a hassle for what it is worth. This year I decided to do it during the practice session so everyone can see each other's qualifying run, and we as admins can also watch for rule infractions without the hassle of replays. I did not calculate the time it would take to do 500+ drivers. We have a little over 780 drivers signed up. It would take approximately 25 solid hours or more to do that many drivers. That is 25 hours straight. Even spread over a week, it is still much more work than should be expected of anyone. It is not easy directing drivers during qualifying, especially for a full week.

"A decision has not been made as of now on what we will do exactly. Regardless, qualifying will still be important and everyone should still continue to work on their qualifying setups. Whatever is decided, everyone will be notified in plenty of advance. "

SimAutoRacer.net update: The TSW 500 procedures page has been updated with the new qualifying format.
