TOCA Race Driver, GP4 Scheduled for June 2002 Release

June 2002 could be one of the best sim auto racing months of the year as two major releases have been scheduled: TOCA Race Driver and Grand Prix 4.

TOCA Race Driver

The confirmed launch date for CodeMaster's TOCA Race Driver is scheduled for June as this promising title offers 38 real tracks and racing in 13 championships. Fans of world class touring series shouldn't be disappointed with the diversity of the game as it features both the British Touring Championship and the German Touring Masters series among others.

We took the time to visit CodeMasters site and found these great screenshots of the game. We can't wait.

TOCA Race Driver will be released as "Pro Race Driver" here in the US.

Grand Prix 4 Already?

According to an article at EuroGamer.net the latest release in Geoff Crammond’s legendary Grand Prix series will be released by Infogrames in June 2002. The game will feature the 2001 F1 tracks, drivers, and machines. Crammond appears to understand that GP4 will need to bring a lot to the table to beat incumbant F1 simulator F1 2001 as he remarks that their aim is to provide "a complete F1 driving experience which is as close to having a real F1 drive as possible.”

According to the EuroGamer article, Crammond will be assisted by InfogramesChippenham internal development studio for the release. We will be eagerly awaiting it's arrival here in the US.
