ORCA: Barrett Scores Daytona Twin Killing, Takes ORCA Shootout!!!

ORCA Racing

DAYTONA BEACH - Dave Barrett came out with guns blazing in the ORCA shootout Saturday evening. Barrett launched his #24 AllOfficeSports.com Chevy onto the Pole with a blistering lap during qualifying, then proceeded to dismantle the field en-route to his first victory of the new season.

The shootout victory earned Barrett a $50 purse and was the first win of the new season for DaFirm Racing. Barrett led the majority of laps and was in control until the final green flag pit stop which took on the appearance of a demolition derby as the 5 lead cars all swapped paint entering and exiting pit row.

Barrett cam out in the lead but the #5 Chevy of Wayne Daigle pushed hard and fought for the lead taking the inside line away from Barrett who in the exchange made contact with the wall. It looked like the race was over at that point but Barrett simply put his foot into it and the #24 Chevy with slight damage from the brush with the wall roared to life and was able to run down the #5 and take the lead with 3 laps to go.

Barrett then protected the low line and was able to hold of the advances of Daigle in the #5 for the win.
